Microsoft Cancels 1 Vs. 100

Microsoft confirmed today it has canceled 1 vs. 100, the television-style game show that aired on Xbox Live. The cancellation comes just after two seasons since it debuted last November.

"When we started on this journey, we knew we were creating an entirely new genre of entertainment that would be a continually evolving concept," said Dave McCarthy, General Manager, Microsoft Game Studios.

"We're very proud of the '1 vs 100' team and their accomplishments, and are excited to apply what we've learned to future programming."

Microsoft said the 1 vs. 100 team is now focused on developing new projects to be unveiled in the future.

Agreed, the novelty soon wore off

I think 1 vs 100 would have been more successful if it had been several games at once - if there had been twenty lobbies, that would have meant 20 people who were The One, and 2000 who were in the 100. As it was, you had almost no chance of being in the 100, let alone being the one.

Also, Friday at 7.30 wasn't really a great time for me to play, so I rarely bothered.

i enjoyed it but it did take forever with all its adverts etc, always thought they were a waste of time, sure people would want tea, toilet and smoking breaks but thats their decision the game that could have taken an hour took 4 sometimes

Agreed, it was just far too slow paced to play for anything more than a short burst...

      Nice idea, but ultimately flawed.
